Viggo Venn is a Clown, a Comedian and a Norwegian.

After studying at renowned clown school Ecole Philippe Gaulier in France (alumni Sasha Baron Cohen, Emma Thompson) he toured original clown shows in Australia, USA and Europe for 4 years with American clown Zach Zucker.
Together they played Melbourne Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs Montreal, Second City Chicago, Hollywood Improv, The Comedy Store LA, Glastonbury Festival, SOHO Theatre London etc. With sold out shows and critical acclaim they picked up awards for “Best Comedy” at The Brighton Fringe 2016, “Best Comedy Weekly” at Adelaide Fringe 2017, “Time Out Edinburgh Award” in 2018.

As a solo act Viggo Venn has been nominated for “Best Comedy” at Brighton Fringe 2017 and “Best Comedy” at Perth Fringe World 2018.

During the pandemic Viggo teamed up with estonian clown Julia Masli and created the digital show “We Missed You” that played Voila European Theatre Festival at The Cockpit Theatre, Sprint Festival at Camden Peoples Theatre and Assembly festival. Together they also created the short film “Outsiders” as part of NIE´s digital commissions funded by Arts Council England.

In Oslo you can regularly find Viggo at Nieu Scene Soria Moria where he hosts “LATE NIGHT NIEU”, NIEU Gong show and shows up on a variety of shows. Viggo is a former Norwegian Champion of Theatresport, works for Hospital Clowns Norway and created and toured the show “Brothers & Sisters” with theatre company New International Encounter (NIE) that was nominated for Norway's main theatre award, The Hedda Award, for “Best show for a young audience”.

In addition to being a staff teacher at Ecole Philippe Gaulier (Teaching Buffon, Melodrama, Le Jeu and Clown) Viggo is a sought after clown teacher and regularly teaches week-long clown workshops in the UK, Norway and USA. More info about workshops

Viggo is currently doing the stand up circuit in London, taking the tube a lot and taking his third soloshow “Viggo Venn: Club Comedian” to the Edinburgh Fringe august 2022.
